Experts say today’s challenging economy creates special considerations business owners should keep in mind before choosing an electrical contractor.

According to Larry Burmeister, president of the Independent Electrical Contractors of St. Louis and owner of Mid-America Electric in Imperial, the current construction downturn has resulted in some electricians seeking work on the side, or going independent because of layoffs.
